An update on my next film “POST-”
All is going well. One scene has been filmed. Another to be filmed on the 21st of Feb.
I have made a small roller-dolly for the Cannon 5D Mk2 and as you will see, the footage looks great!

Channel Report on Can’t at the London film festival 2012.
This film was created as we went to Cannes 2011 to represent Jersey and our films. We improvised a number of story-lines about the three dumb and thick directors expecting the world.
A number of story-lines did not make it into the short and sit on our desktops but we hope all like the stories we chose.

Filmed on iPhones and a scene or two on a Cannon 5d mk2
Just some info/thoughts before & after my Channel TV interview.
I represented our film here in the Channel islands whilst Matt did the same at the London short film festival LSFF.
Just got back from a hectic weekend seeing over 60+ short films of which ‘Can’t’ was one. It played to a sold out screen at the London Short Film Festival at the ICA (Institute of Contemporary Art). The photo was taken as it was filling up!! It got a good reception and rounded off the New Shorts 2: Lo Budget Mayhem category on the opening night. I met up with the creator of LSFF Philip Illson on the evening and a few days later he commented that although he had never been to the Cannes Film Festival himself all other short films or documentaries portrayed only the glitz and glamour that Cannes is famous for. He felt that ‘Can’t’ really gave a good insight into what it was really like to be there (Mockumentry or not). ‘Can’t’ was only one of 5 entries Jersey had in the festival, which for such a small island, bearing in mind the LSFF has shorts screening from all around the world, is pretty impressive.
This obviously should have gone up sooner as it is quite short notice now but “Can’t” has been selected to play at the London Short Film Festival.
It will be screening in the New Shorts #2 Lo-Budget Mayhem section this Friday (6th Jan 2012) at 9pm at the ICA Theatre.
Once again Matt will be taking up representing duties as myself and Leigh can not attend.
Matt please post regular updates over the weekend so that Leigh and I can feel like we’re there too.

Just a gentle reminder, and for those of you who don’t already know, our latest film “Can’t“, the mockumentary we filmed while we were at Cannes in May, is playing at the Branchage Film Festival this week. Why it’s playing, however, is anyone’s guess. It’s hardly the greatest example of film making. We thought it was just a bit of a laugh and that no one but us would find funny. As it turns out the good people at Branchage liked it too and decided to schedule it in the Shorts 7: Sunday Matinee Comedy section screening at the Pomme D’or Hotel on Sunday 25th September (That’s this Sunday!) at 1pm. It’s free entry, no tickets required, just turn up. Hope to see you there.

Unanswered has been selected to play at Aesthetica Short Film Festival in York. The dates for the festival are 3-6 November 2011. This is now the 4th Festival Unanswered has played at!

So as it has been over a month since we’ve posted anything on the site I thought I would give a brief description of what we have been doing.
When we went to Cannes in May we decided, as we didn’t have an entry ready for Branchage, that we would make a mockumentary of our visit. We got back from Cannes on Sunday 22nd May leaving us only 3 days until the Branchage deadline. Amazingly we managed to get it completed and sent off in time. Even more amazingly we have just been informed that “Can’t” has been selected to play at this years festival.
Before all this Cannes stuff you may remember back in April we began filming “The Final Straw”, well 3 and a bit months later and we have now shot a second scene with a third being shot tomorrow. I’ve been working away on the VFX-heavy final scene (that we shot in April) and I’m now almost finished. There are another couple of VFX shots to do in the scene we’re shooting tomorrow and then it’s on to Colour Grading then finally Sound. I’m hopeful that we’ll have the film completed before I’m back at work in September.
Unfortunately there is no rest when this is all done though, as in September we begin shooting Leigh’s next film “POST-”, then of course at the end of September we have the Branchage Film Festival.
So if you don’t see too many posts from us in the next couple of months it’s because we’re busy working away.
So my year of festivals, networking and work comes to an end and what better way to end this project, but by letting all of my subscriber and fellow Youtuber’s see my short. You know I’m a Silent Hill fan so I hope you enjoy the atmosphere! Please leave feedback and rate.
The Venial Society: Nicolas finds himself walking around a strange building looking for his friend only to find he is not alone in his search.
This film cost around £50 to make and is my 1st attempt to Direct. Our production company www.primaverapictures.co.uk has successively produced a number of shorts and we are looking to some feature length projects at the moment.
